DALLAS, TX (KTLA) — A 22-year-old woman faces life in prison after police say she glued her toddler daughter’s hands to a wall, kicked her in the stomach and beat her over a potty training issue.
The 2-year-old girl is on life support after being found unresponsive by her grandmother.
Police records indicate glue and paint were stuck to the girl’s palms, with skin torn away in places.
The alleged abuse happened on Tuesday at the family apartment in 9000 block of Timberline Drive in the northwest portion of the city, according to TheDallas Morning News.
The mother, Elizabeth Escalona, faces charges of injury to a child charge that carries a sentence of up to life in prison.

“The 2-year-old girl is on life support after being found unresponsive by her grandmother.”
I’ve read other reports that state that she woke up after two days and there’s no lasting injury. It’s a dreadful way to escape but at least she has escaped with her life. Hopefully she and her siblings have been placed with a family that will love them with all their hearts. Every child should have that and there are far too many that don’t, any children’s charity can tell you that.
I know that I started asking “why” at the age of two, so did my children. What possible answer can anyone give to “Why did Mummy do this to me?” I really hope that she’ll forget, that she hasn’t started forming memories yet.
