Man sentenced to state prison for sexually assaulting, strangling dog

SACRAMENTO, CA – A man was sentenced to 10 years in state prison for abusing a Chihuahua.

Robert Edwards De Shields was convicted of felony animal abuse for strangling and sexually assaulting the dog while using meth in March 2011, Sacramento County District Attorney Spokesperson Shelly Orio said.
