Anke Anusic, age 44, and her mother Gitta, age 66, were arrested at Liverpool John Lennon Airport last Saturday for attempting to smuggle the body of their deceased 91-year-old relative, “Willi” Curt Jaran, on a flight to Berlin, Germany.

The women tried to take the body on to the plane in a wheelchair wearing sunglasses, and they claimed that the person was asleep. They had previously used a taxi to bring the corpse from their home in Oldham.

Money throwing man

A Japanese man was arrested for throwing thousands of pounds onto the motorway.

The 49-year-old man was found flinging stacks of 10,000 yen notes – each worth an estimated $105 – from a tollbooth in the Aichi region, and has been detained in custody while police investigate the incident.

More than $30,000 worth of Japanese notes were handed into the authorities or recovered by police in the area, but police fear much may have been stolen as the man claims he had at least $75,000 in his pockets. View full article »
